  • Native To Western Africa, The Bleeding Heart Red Is A Twining Evergreen That Can Grow To 10’ Tall, Dependent On The Trellis, With Glossy, Dark Green Oval Leaves That Are Approximately 7” Long And Several Red Calyxes That Inflate Like A Balloon From Which A Crimson Corollas With Prominent Stamens Extend Way Beyond The Petals. The Red Calyxes Are Shaped Like A Heart And The Crimson Corollas Depict A Bleeding Heart, Hence Its Name. The Bleeding Heart Red Is A Bushy Climber Which Provides Privacy If Grown On A Trellis Or Fence And It Can Be Displayed In A Hanging Basket Or Container To Allow The Plant To Mound On Itself.
